The Golf Course
It was originally laid out in 1928 by the great Harry (H. A.) Colt who is often described as the founder of golf course architecture in Britain. Mr Colt has worked on many courses around the world and closer to home such as, Royal Lytham & St Annes, Royal Portrush, Muirfield, Royal Worlington, Sunningdale and Royal Belfast.
Our mature course has lovely views of the surrounding countryside of Essex and runs gently down to the River Ingrebourne. The Course requires finesse and judgement in recording a good score and on the odd occasion you have the option to open up those shoulders. Psychologically water comes into play drawing the ball towards the river which winds its pretty way.
